When Does Daylight Saving Time Start?

Daylight Saving Time begins soon – don't forget to set your clocks ahead an hour!

It's time to spring forward. That's right, Daylight Saving Time begins at 2 a.m. Sunday, Mar. 10 and residents are reminded to turn all their clocks ahead one hour. Saturday Night, Change Your Clocks – And Your Smoke Alarm Batteries

Daylight Saving Time ends early Sunday morning, and State Fire Marshal Richard Miller is encouraging residents to keep fire safety in mind while turning back clocks this weekend.

- The following information was provided by the State Fire Marshal/www.michigan.gov/lara This weekend, make it a priority to ensure your home is equipped with working smoke alarms and carbon monoxide detectors as you set clocks back one hour and “fall back” to Daylight Saving Time, which officially begins at 2 a.m. this Sunday.     “Smoke alarms cut in half a family’s risk of dying in a home fire – but only if they work,” State Fire Marshal Richard Miller said. “It’s simple and life-saving to change the batteries in smoke alarms and carbon monoxide detectors or install new ones. When Do the Clocks Go Back for Daylight Saving Time?

It's the "good" clock turn this Sunday, Nov. 4, giving us an extra hour in bed. Daylight Saving Time comes to an end at 2 a.m.

The magical extra hour that comes but once a year takes place this Sunday, Nov. 4 when Daylight Saving Time ends at 2 a.m. Remember, you’ll “fall back” and set your clocks back one hour. Many electronic devices automatically adjust when Daylight Saving Time begins or ends. Fire officials suggest changing the clocks is a good reminder to change smoke detector batteries and check that devices are in working order. Arizona, Puerto Rico, Hawaii, U.S. Virgin Islands and American Samoa do not observe Daylight Savings Time.
