Michigan Golf Show Comes to Novi This Weekend

The golf show will be at Suburban Collection Showplace March 1-3.

A little bit of snow won't stop golfers from kicking off the Michigan golf season this weekend. The Michigan Golf Show will be held at Suburban Collection Showplace, 46100 Grand River Avenue in Novi, from Friday through Sunday. Hours are Friday 2-8 p.m., Saturday 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Sunday 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Cost is $10 for adults. Children 12 and younger get in free. Parking is $5. The show will have more than 400 exhibitors, which will include retail, resort and travel information, and deals on Michigan golf courses. Hands-on activities include a closest to the pin contest, 100 feet of hitting nets, and long drive contests. This year marks the 23rd anniversary of the largest consumer golf show in the nation. 15 Catholic Central Students Sign Letters of Intent

The students officially signed their letter to play their respective sports for a college.

Fifteen Detroit Catholic Central High School students made their college plans official Wednesday morning by signing their letters of intent to play their respective sports in college. Northville Fall 2012 Athletes Honored for Achievements

The Northville Board of Education honored the boys tennis, girls volleyball, girls golf, girls swimming, girls cross country and boys cross country teams were honored with certificates.

Members of six of Northville High School's fall 2012 sports teams were honored Tuesday night for their athletic achievements. The boys tennis, girls volleyball, girls golf, girls swimming, girls cross country and boys cross country teams were presented with certificates of achievement by School Board President Dottie Garrity, Superintendent Mary Kay Gallagher and Athletic Director Bryan Masi. The following teams and students were honored: The team came in fourth at states. The team won the district title for the first time and also won conferences and regionals. Novi Golfsmith Store Replaces Closed Northville Location

The new store will be located in Novi Town Center.

Northville's Golfsmith store, on Haggerty Road, closed last month and its larger Novi replacement opened its doors today. The 27,400-square-foot store is located at 43135 Crescent Blvd. in the Novi Town Center. It is twice the size of the Northville store, MarketWatch reports. On Saturday, the first 500 customers in line before the doors open at 8 a.m. will receive either a $20 Golfsmith card, a free two-pack of golf balls or rounds of golf at the Gaylord Golf Mecca Resort, according to MarketWatch. Customers can also register for a chance to win prizes including drivers, iron sets, bags, balls, apparel and much more. Winners will be selected by random drawing at the close of business, June 3. Northville's Zanotti Wraps Up Golf Finals

Mustangs standout finishes Division 1 state finals with a final-round score of 88.

He may have fallen short of winning the Division 1 finalist title—that honor belongs to North Farmington's Max Kollin (144) this season—but Northville's Nick Zanotti can hold his head high after a solid performance at the Division 1 boys golf state finals June 17-18 at Katke-Cousins Golf Course. Zanotti finished the two day event with a combined score of 179 (91-88).
