In 1992 Bentivolio owed $620,000 to a bank and more than 30 vendors. He declared bankruptcy and cheated them out of their money. Now he is giving us math lessons on the economy? We are in big trouble if this guy gets near any of our tax dollars. We need to dump him now. ONE TERM and GONE!   more ›

This comes at the expense of jobs and economic growth. The Protect Small Business Jobs Act encourages the great American tradition of entrepreneurship and competition in an age when most Americans see that …

Exempt the Life Safety Code instead of "imminent danger". It leaves too much room for interpretation and handcuffs inspectors. This will be a nightmare for courts also.   more ›

U.S. Rep. Kerry Bentivolio Responds to President's State of the Union

Congressman critical of Obama's remarks.

Congressman Kerry Bentivolio, R-Milford, released the following statement Tuesday following President Barack Obama’s State of the Union address: “President Obama keeps trying to convince us that giving up our freedoms and letting the government make our decisions on how to run our lives is a sign of progress. He wants the government to tell us how to run our businesses. He wants the government to get between us and our doctors. He wants the government to take more of our nation’s hard earned money instead of letting us spend it for ourselves. All of these intrusions make us less prosperous, less healthy, and less free. “This evening we heard the same tired rhetoric from the president. From his speech to Congress in February 2009 to tonight…

The defining economic policy of the last decade, of course, was the Bush tax cuts. Bush and Congress, passed a large tax cut in 2001, sped up its implementation in 2003 and predicted that prosperity would follow. The economic growth that actually followed — indeed, the whole history of the last 20 years — offers one of the most serious challenges to modern conservatism. Bill Clinton and the elder…   more ›

Score one for Bentivolio, assuming he follows through. Thaddeus McCotter's inattentiveness to such things during his time in Congress was a big reason Kerry ran in the first place -- that, and no longer having a teaching job.   more ›

This would of course be a doomed-to-fail attempt to put into law the "rule" that House Republicans imposed at the beginning of 2011...only to find the vast majority of the subsequent bills and amendments simply referred to the Enumerated powers specified in Article I, Section 8 and called it good. The bill has exactly zero chance of becoming law, given that the U.S. Senate has no interest in …   more ›
