Northville Girls Soccer Beats South Lyon, South Lyon East

The Mustangs win both games by a score of 4-0.

The Northville High School Mustangs varsity girls soccer team beat South Lyon High School Tuesday by a score of 4-0. The following summary of the game was submitted by Northville girls soccer coach Eric Brucker. On Senior night, Northville picks up its 12th win of the season with a 4-0  shutout of South Lyon. Before the game, five seniors were recognized – Emily Bush, Cassidy Ebach, Kiki Hilmer, Alexis Mencotti, and Gabbie Guibord. First half 13th Minute: Junior Gabby Mencotti played a long ball out of the midfield to a streaking Emily Bush. Bush shielded the ball for the defender and fired an 18 yard shot. 23rd Minute: Gabby Mencotti gets her own goal on a 12 yard shot. Northville Girls Soccer Defeats Saline

The Mustangs win the game, 1-0.

The Northville High School Mustangs varsity girls soccer team beat Saline High School Saturday by a score of 1-0. The following summary of the game was submitted by Northville girls soccer coach Eric Brucker. On Saturday, May 11, Northville played a tough non-conference game in Saline and was victorious by the score of 1-0. Second Half 47th minute: Junior Ashley Peper serves in a corner kick from the left side. Senior Emily Bush collects the cross with her feet and passes the ball into the near post for the game winner. Northville Girls Soccer Beats Livonia's Stevenson

The Mustangs win the game, 4-0.

The Northville High School Mustangs varsity girls soccer beat Livonia's Stevenson High School at a home game Thursday by a score of 4-0. The following summary of the game was submitted by Northville girls soccer coach Eric Brucker. (70 degrees; sunny) First Half 12th minute: Junior Ashley Peper plays nice pass from the center of the field to the right side of the Spartan penalty box. Junior Jenny Willerer take the pace and floats a shot over the Spartan keeper. 18th minute: Sophomore Kelly McHugh crosses from the left side. Junior Gabby Mencotti volleys the cross into the net. 30th minute: Sophomore Morgan Gozdor plays a slotted through pass between the Spartan defense. Northville Girls Soccer Ties with Novi, Beats South Lyon

The Mustangs tied the first game 0-0 and won the second 4-1.

The Northville High School Mustangs varsity girls soccer tied 0-0 with rival Novi High School at the home game on Tuesday. The following summary of the game was submitted by Northville girls soccer coach Eric Brucker. (60 degrees; windy with rain for most of the game) In a defensive battle it was the goalkeepers that stood out in last night’s Central division matchup. Northville’s senior goalkeeper Kiki Hilmer made 11 saves in her fourth shutout of the season.  Northville and Novi remain tied atop the KLAA Central division.   Northville moves to  5-1-1; Novi moves to 4-1-1. Girls Soccer: Mustangs Go 2-0-1 at Saginaw Heritage Invitational

Northville faces Livonia Stevenson on Tuesday.

The Northville Mustangs girls soccer team went 2-0-1 over the weekend at the Saginaw Heritage Invitational. On Saturday, the Mustangs managed just a 1-1 tie with Saline, despite outshooting the Hornets 9-2. Sophomore Jamie Cheslik scored the Mustangs' lone goal at the 13-minute mark of the game after a throw-in by senior Jenni Borawski, driving the ball into the net from 22 yards out. Late in the second half, Saline was awarded a free kick from 45 yards out and during a battle to clear the ball, the Hornets drove the ball into the net to tie the game at the 47-minute mark. Northville coach Eric Brucker said in an email that a poor clearance out of the back cost the Mustangs a goal — and a shot at winning the game. The Mustangs regained …
