Have lived in Downtown Northville for 20 years and they need to first get a new mayor and second keep a closer eye on the builders than are knocking down houses and building new that look like they belong in Canton not in the Historical district.   more ›

From dancing and dinners to champagne toasts and late-night coney bars, there's lots happening on the last night of 2012 in southeast Michigan. Here's a roundup of events; add yours to the comments section here. Northville Nite New Year's Eve from 4-7 p.m.; $2-$10. Travel “Through the Decades” this New Years Eve 2012; as you enter the gates you will travel back in time to the Roarin’ 20’s and travel through the decades all the way to the future. Activities include crafts, huge inflatable games, slot car racing, carnival games, entertainment and much more. Northville Rotary Club will be selling hot dogs, pizza, and beverages. Week in Review: News Round-Up

News for the week of Dec. 26 to Jan. 1.

Northville Parks and Recreation Director Traci Sincock has retired after 25 years with the department. Sincock will begin a new position with the Northville Chamber of Commerce on Jan 12. Joanna Harris, currently Parks and Recreation Operations Coordinator, will take over has interim director. Northville District Library offers more than 2,000 free e-books at the library's Download Destination website. The website allows readers to download e-books, audio books and music for up to three weeks without spending money. The library will also hold a free class to teach people how to get started with the service on personal computers and e-readers at 7 p.m. Jan 13. Northville High School varsity boys basketball team won the Northville Holiday …

'Northville Nite' Luaus in 2011

Northville Parks and Recreation put on the 12th annual Northville Nite.

Every year, about 800 people celebrate New Year's Eve at Northville Parks and Recreation's Northville Nite. Megan Curtis was among them Friday. She just moved to Northville with her family and learned about Northville Night from a flyer. She decided to bring her nephew Tyler Curtis, 5 and her daughter Alexa, 4, to the event. Curtis also told her friend Shannon Temples from Allen Park who brought her daughter Jillian, 3. "There are no good activaties for little kids," Curtis said. "It's traditionally an adult party holiday. I thought it would be fun to bring the kids." Northville Parks and Recreation begins planning the event at the start of summer, according to Joanna Harris, operations and special events coordinator for the department. …
