Northville Township police arrested a man at 5:44 p.m. on April 19 at Meijer, 20401 Haggerty Road, on charges of retail fraud, according to a police report. A Meijer loss prevention detective observed a man select a cart full of groceries and proceed through the checkouts near the south doors past all points of purchase and exit, the report said. Loss prevention officer then took him into custody, according to the report. The man told the loss prevention officer that he understood what he did was wrong and a crime but he wasn’t thinking about it when he left the store, the report said. Northville Township police arrested a woman 1:13 a.m. April 21 near the intersection of Haggerty and Cross roads on charges of operating a vehicle while intoxicated, according to a police report. The officer noted a gray 2012 Ford Focus driving 57 mph in a 45 mph zone traveling east on Seven Mile Road near Pierson Drive, the report said. The officer saw the driver failed to remain in the curb lane when turning onto southbound Haggerty Road and instead merged immediately into the left through-lane without signaling, the report said. Northville Township police arrested a man April 17 at Meijer, 20401 Haggerty Road, on larceny charges, according to a police report. The responding officers were told by a Meijer loss prevention officer that there was a suspect under surveillance who was stealing liquor and concealing it inside a microwave oven, the report said. The loss prevention officer said he saw the suspect select two bottles of Cuervo 1800 tequila, a bottle of cognac and some socks and put them in the microwave oven before putting the oven back in its box. The man paid for the microwave on one transaction and then purchased other items on another transaction, but he did not pay for the concealed items, according to the report. A Home Depot loss prevention officer said he recognized the man who walked into the store and knew he was suspected of stealing from various area Home Depot stores, the report said. The prevention officer followed the man and said he saw him put different SKU barcodes on two products, according to the report. The items that the man selected were LED undercabinet lights valued at $99.97 each, the report said. Northville Township police arrested a woman for having an open intoxicant in a vehicle and cited a man for driving with a suspended license at 9:47 p.m. March 5 near the intersection of Seven Mile and Meadowbrook roads, according to a police report. Driving westbound on Seven Mile Road, the officer saw a 1998 Ford Crown Victoria heading eastbound with its right headlight out, the report said. The officer stopped the vehicle and could smell the odor of burnt marijuana coming from the interior, according to the report. Northville Township police issued a misdemeanor citation for trespassing to a man 6:15 p.m. March 7 at the former Northville Psychiatric Hospital, 41001 Seven Mile Road, according to a police report. Three officers arrived at the scene where a man near the old laundry building was dragging a large gauge steel cable, the report said. He said he was there cleaning the place up and and trying to make money by recycling in the process, according to the report.
