UPDATED: Jankowski, Phelps and Wilk Elected to Northville School Board

Voters also passed the tech bond for Northville Public Schools.

Despite at times long waits at the polls, about 13,500 voters – or about 60 percent – showed their support Tuesday night for the technology bond for Northville Public Schools. "These much-needed technology enhancements will provide proven educational technology that adapts to individual student learning styles; strengthens college and career readiness for all students; and keep the district’s General Fund dollars in the classroom — all while maintaining the current 4.3-mill millage rate for taxpayers," Superintendent Mary Kay Gallagher said in a district email. Perhaps now the BoE will stand up for what is really important and that is the educational experience of our children. The unofficial results for Northville's big races are in. Northville Public School voters approved the technology bond by about 60 percent, according to results from the Oakland County precincts, as well as Northville city and township clerk counts. - The following Letter to the Editor was submitted by Northville School Board trustee Cyndy Jankowski As a school board trustee, I have had the opportunity to attend many school related functions and community forums to give input and support for the upcoming Technology Bond which will appear on the Nov. 6 ballot. I have followed the various comments in the local media and at various school and community gatherings, and would like to take this opportunity to respond and express why I am encouraging Northville residents to support the Technology Bond. Oct. 9 is the deadline for voter registration for the Nov. election. Here's the information needed for Northville residents to register to vote, whether in person or by absentee ballot. You can register in person at the clerks offices in Northville Township and the city of Northville or by mail. Applications are available online at www.Michigan.gov/sos. Not sure if you're already registered? Visit the Secretary of State's website to search its database. Voters who are 18 or older, or who will be 18 by the Nov. 6 election, are eligible to register to vote. ELECTION 2012: Northville Averages Larger Donations to Romney Campaign than to Obama's

Northville residents have donated $140,775 to Barack Obama's and Mitt Romney's campaigns, according to an interactive database of contributions from the Federal Election Commission.

Northville residents have given more money during the 2012 election cycle to President Barack Obama than to former Massachusett's Gov. Mitt Romney, according to data from the Federal Election Commission. However, records also show that Romney is getting more per contribution than Obama in Northville. Donations from Northville residents averaged about $541 per donation to the Republican candidate and $226 per donation to the Democratic incumbent. Northville residents have made 53 donations of $1,000 or more to either the Republican or Democratic presidential campaigns. Of those, 30 were to Romney. The rest, 23 contributions, were over $1,000 to Democrat Obama. According to FEC records, residents made 340 donations to the Obama campaign and …
