Toys for Tots is under way for 2012, but where can you donate in Northville? Here's a list of Northville donation locations: Toys will be accepted through Tuesday, Dec. 18. Toys for Tots is organized by the Marine Corps Reserves, which will distribute them to needy children throughout Northville. It happens every year: Parents wake before dawn and head out to try and track down their child's must-have holiday gift. But sometimes the challenge is much greater than just finding the right toy. This winter, thousands of people in Michigan are faced with disappointing their children because they can't afford presents. That's where Toys for Tots steps in. The organization, founded in 1947, has distributed more than 400 million toys to 188 million needy children since its inception. The Northville Township Police Department is collecting donations for Toys for Tots. Gifts will go to children in western Wayne and southwest Oakland counties.
