Girls Basketball: Northville Falls to Hartland in Regional Semifinal Game

The girls lost the game Tuesday night by a score of 41-37.

Northville's varsity girls basketball team lost a close game to Hartland Tuesday night by a score of 41-37. Leading scores at regional semifinal game, played at Farmington High School, were Alex Moynes, Mallory Weber and Kendra Brenner. Girls Basketball: Northville Trounces Walled Lake Western

The girls finished out their regular season with a 53-21 win.

Northville High School's varsity girls basketball team played Walled Lake Western High School Wednesday night, ending their regular season with a 53-21 win. Leading scorers for the Mustangs were Alex Moynes, Kendra Brenner and Meredith Williams. "Northville dominated the boards as they out-rebounded Western 36-14 and forced Western into shooting under 14 percent for the game," said coach Todd Gudith. "Northville got out and ran in transition for some easy baskets in the first half to blow the game wide open as the took a ten point first quarter lead and extended it to 22 by the half." Northville Girls Basketball Takes Down Waterford Mott

The Mustangs won the Monday night away game, 43-25.

Northville High School senior Alex Moynes led the varsity girls basketball team in a 43-25 victory over Waterford Mott High School Monday night. Moynes scored 24 points for the Mustangs in the first three quarters and was the game's leading scorer. Coach Todd Gudith said of the game: "The Mustangs also held the rebounding edge 35-20. It wasn't just the offense that was going well for Northville but their defense came to play as well. Northville made Mott work for every shot." Another area the team excelled in, Gudith said, was keeping an eye on Waterford Mott's star player Rachel Hung. "(Hung) had scored 34 points the game before and was coming in averaging 20 points/game," Gudith said. "Our girls did a tremendous job on Hung. She's got a …

Northville Girls Basketball Beats Wayne in Final Home Game

The Mustangs beat Wayne, 58-38.

The Northville Mustangs defeated Wayne Memorial High School in the team's final home game of the season by a score of 58-38. Eleven of Northville's 12 players put points on the board in the Thursday night game. Leading scorers for the Mustangs were Alex Moynes with 15 points, Aly Bates with 10 points and Kendra Brenner with 9. "Our girls did a nice job of finding open teammates and they converted that into some easy scores," coach Todd Gudith said. The girls started out with a 20-5 lead in the first quarter. Gudith added, "The Mustangs converted 25-52 FG attempts while recording 20 assists as a team. Wayne relied on Ashley Bland to carry the load offensively as she poured in 24 points. Northville Girls Basketball Falls to Canton

The third-ranked KLAA Central Division Mustangs lost 39-23.

Northville traveled to Canton, which finished second in the Kensington Lakes Activities Association, to kick off the KLAA playoffs Tuesday night.  Coach Todd Gudith said of the game: "Northville struggled to get their offense going early on as Canton jumped out to a 9-1 lead after the first quarter. The lead extended to 15-1 before a basket by Alex Moynes finally broke the streak of misses." Canton's Robyn Mack carried the Chiefs ending the night with 22 points.  "Mack was hard to stop. She got to the rim and made us pay. She's a four-year starter and knows how to take over a game when needed," Gudith said. Northville Varsity Girls Basketball Nets Win Over South Lyon East

Senior Meredith Williams and junior Kendra Brenner led the team to a 45-35 victory.

The Northville Mustangs fended off the South Lyon East Cougars Friday night in girls varsity basketball. The Mustangs ended the game with a 45-35 win. "Coming off of two straight tough loses Northville was looking to turn things around and end division play on a positive note," coach Todd Gudith said. "Northville played a strong first half, holding the Cougars to just 10 points while running a balance attack on offense with solid shooting performances by Meredith Williams and Kendra Brenner." Northville finished third in the Kensington Lakes Activities Association central division. Northville Girls Basketball Falls to South Lyon

Northville lost the game by a score of 36-35.

Northville High School's varsity girls basketball team lost its final home game before the KLAA playoffs begin on Tuesday. The team lost to South Lyon, 36-35. Coach Todd Gudith said of the game: "It was a back and forth game with neither team able to take hold and establish control. With South Lyon up one just before halftime, Kendra Brenner hit a three-pointer at the buzzer to send the Mustangs to the locker room with a two point edge." Turnovers were a problem for Northville, he said. The Mustangs ended the game with 23 turnovers.
