Community Corner

Thank you Gift-Wrapping and Vista Maria Renovations Volunteers!

Thank you to all of the volunteers that worked to help the abused and at risk girls at Vista Maria!  Kaleigh Carlone ran this for her Girl Scout Gold Award, but could not have done it without the almost 2,600 volunteer hours that people put in. Thank you to all of the people of Northville, Novi, Livonia, Farmington, Farmington Hills, Plymouth, Dearborn Heights, and several more surrounding cities.  You all helped bring in more than $21,000 wrapping gifts at Laurel Park Place mall in Livonia, then helped spend the over $16,000 profits on renovations at Vista Maria.  The project on-site involved transforming the "supplies closet" into "Vista Maria Boutique" in order to give the girls a beautiful place to go to get clothing and other things they need.  The point of the project was to show the girls the love from the surrounding communities, and to show them they deserve a beautiful place because they are worthy and beautiful.

Please take a look at the before and after pictures included in this announcement. These in no way show everything accomplished, but they do give a taste of what community effort can do!
