Popular TV Show Uncovers Northville's Charm

"Under the Radar Michigan" will air a show this summer featuring places around Northville.

The public-television travel show "Under the Radar Michigan" came to Northville Tuesday to film an episode for the show's third season.

Host Tom Daldin and the show's producers -- Jim Edelman and Eric Tremonti -- visited Maybury Farm, downtown Northville and the "Binky Tree" at Preservation Dental.

Patch was there when the crew stopped at Genitti's Hole-In-The-Wall in downtown Northville.

Daldin interviewed John Genitti and his son, Andrew Genitti, about the family-run Italian dinner theater. Daldin noticed the family photos that cover the restaurant's walls.

"I've heard the experience is like an Italian wedding. I've had one of those. Is that true?" he asked.

The Genittis agreed and said dining at Genitti's Hole-In-The-Wall is like being among family.

The show featuring Northville will premiere 10:30 a.m. August 3 on Detroit Public TV, WTVS channel 56 in metro Detroit. Check dptv.org for other air times. The show will also be available to watch on demand online at http://utrmichigan.com/episode-322, which will go live after 11 a.m. August 3.
