Your Guide to Spooky Halloween Happenings in Northville

October brings a month of haunted happenings to Northville. There's the skeletons downtown, the Fright Night Festival, a costume contest and more!

Looking for a good scare and a fun time? Here's Patch's roundup of Halloween events in Northville.

"Skeletons are Alive"

There will be more than 50 themed skeleton sculptures placed around downtown through Oct. 31 for "Skeletons are Alive."


Trick or Treat Trail

Trick-or-treaters hit the Halloween trail at Mill Race Village from 4:40 to 6:40 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 20. Attendees had the chance to trick or treat and visit the not-so-spooky houses at this annual Halloween event

Kids Costume Parade and Trick or Treat Streets

Northville's children and their parents will gather downtown at noon Oct. 26 for a costume parade. The parade is followed by trick or treating at the stores downtown from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. There will also be a Halloween puppet show in Town Square at 1:45 p.m. 

Fright Night Festival

This spooky festival honors Halloween and starts at 3 p.m. Oct. 26 in downtown Northville. The festival includes live entertainment, Hell's Hottest Food Contest, the Second Annual Fright Night Road Rally, a canine costume contest, pumpkin carving, Children's Haunted Fairy Door Treasure Hunt and more. Proceeds from the Fright Night Festival go to No Child Goes Hungry, a Chicks4Charities campaign. 

Historical Hauntings: Ghosts of Northville

*The Historical Hauntings event at Mill Race Village has been postponed until next year — October 26, 2014.

Fire Station Open House

Northville's firefighters will pass out free hot cider, fresh donuts and popcorn at their annual Halloween open house from 6 to 8 p.m. Oct. 31. Take a stroll a couple of doors down Main Street to the Northville Community Center, 303 West Main St., for trick or treating also from 6 to 8 p.m. Stay for the costume contest at 7:30 p.m.
