Northville's Summer Concerts Series Starts Friday

The free concert series runs May 31 to August 30.

If the weather isn't saying summer, this surely is: Friday night concerts start this week.

The annual series will have free concerts 7-9 p.m. every Friday at Town Square in downtown Northville, across from Great Harvest Bread Company.

The series, presented by the Northville Downtown Development Authority and Tom Holzer Ford, brings local musicians to downtown Northville. There will be Jazz, Country, Motown, Rock and Blues.

Keeping with tradition, the Northville High School Jazz Band kicks off the series with their performance on Friday. Some of the featured artists for the 2013 season include five-time Detroit Music Award Nominee Gia Warner and Nashville recording artist Justine Blazer. Local favorites, including the Randy Brock Group and the Shawn Riley Band will also perform.
