Northville Teen Killed in Oak Park

Police have a suspect in custody, and they say the suspect knew the 19-year-old victim.

Oak Park police are looking for a motive in a suspected car-jacking that left a 19-year-old Northville Township man dead earlier this week.

Thomas Chavez Carr, 19, of Northville Township, was playing video games at a friend's house in Oak Park early Wednesday morning when another friend called and asked for a ride, according to a Fox 2 News story.

At the end of the drive, police say the 20-year-old suspect shot and killed Carr, and attempted to shoot the other man, also 20.

According to the Oakland Press, police have the suspect in custody and are looking for a motive.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Police Department at 248-691-7447.
