Police Arrest 2 Northville Men on Drug Charges

Northville Township police arrested two Northville men July 7 on charges of possessing marijuana and drug paraphernalia, according to a police report.

An officer saw the driver of a 2005 Chevrolet Malibu Classic driving on Seven Mile Road near Pierson Road without any headlights on, the report said. The officer stopped the car and saw a marijuana grinder in the door pocket when the driver stepped out of the vehicle, according to the report. Police arrested the driver for possessing narcotic paraphernalia, the report said. 

The officer also saw an empty prescription bottle on the passenger side floor between the feet of the passenger, the report said. The officer shined his flashlight on the bottle and saw what looked like marijuana inside it, the report said. The passenger said he did not know the bottle was in the car, according to the report.

There was also a package of Black & Mild sweet cigars missing their cellophane wrapping in the car, according to the report. While searching the passenger, police saw a small cellophane wrapper on the ground, the report said. The wrapper was from the cigar box and contained a small amount of marijuana, according to the report. 

The officer did not notice the wrapper on the ground earlier and arrested the passenger on charges of possessing marijuana, the report said. Police tested the substances, which tested positive for marijuana, according to the report.

Both men had hearings July 24 at 35th District Court.
