The winning team was "Purple Cow," students Jeffrey Zhang and Matthew Pang from Lorri Kingsbury's fourth grade class. Their car crossed the race track in 17.7 seconds. It had a score of 45.3 for efficiency, which was determined by dividing the car's weight by its race time.

The Solar Sprint was a part of Amerman Elementary's Solar celebrations, including a ceremony for the school's new solar panels.
