Northville Township police arrested a Detroit man at about 9 p.m. Dec. 14 on charges of driving while intoxicated, according to a police report.

The man attempted to pass a Wayne County salt truck on Haggerty Road near Five Mile Road, but struck the truck’s plow, according to the truck driver’s answers in the report.

The officer said that the man’s answers were slow and not related to the questions asked, according to the report. He told the officer he had one beer about three hours before the incident, the report said. His preliminary breathalyzer test had a result of .155 percent blood alcohol content, according to the report. The legal driving limit is .08 percent.

The officer arrested him. Upon arriving at the Northville Township police department, the man told the officer that he urinated on himself while in the police car, the report said. Police gave him a clean pair of pants to wear. His chemical breath tests had results of .18 percent and .17 percent blood alcohol content, according to the report.

He paid a $300 cash bond and has a hearing Jan. 8 at 35th District Court.
