Woman Does Taxes, Discovers Her Identity Stolen

The following information was supplied by the City of Northville police.

A Northville woman contacted City of Northville police April 9 after she attempted to file her taxes and discovered someone had already done so in her name, according to a police report.

The woman stated that she and her husband attempted to file their taxes with the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) online using Turbo Tax, the report said. She was notified through email that the return was rejected because someone had already filed a return, according to the report.
