Rep. Heise Presents Transportation Town Hall in Northville Monday

State Rep. Kurt Heise (R-Plymouth), whose constituency includes the City of Northville and Northville Township, is holding the final meeting of a three-stop “Neighborhood Town Hall Tour” on Monday.

The meeting, at Northville Township Hall, will focus on transportation and road issues in Michigan.

“Michigan is home to the Motor City, so there are few topics that receive more attention than transportation and roads when I meet with constituents,” Heise said in a news release. “My goal with this town hall is to listen to residents and find out first-hand what their thoughts are on local transportation issues and to distill their ideas into workable solutions.”

Heise will be joined by Wayne County Commissioner Laura Cox, as well as a representative from Wayne County Roads to talk about upcoming road projects that directly impact residents of western Wayne County, especially MDOT’s plans to reconstruct portions of I-96 in Wayne County next year.

Heise intends to discuss road bills that he has introduced in the legislature, and his bills concerning the southeast Michigan Regional Transit Authority.

“Bringing in officials from around Wayne County is important, because roads and transportation issues involve a lot of different people and agencies,” Heise said in the release. “I plan to focus some of my discussion on road bills that I have introduced, and the issue of a Regional Transit Authority that could have a big impact on my constituents both in a fiscal sense, and with its infrastructure. My goal is to bring decision makers to this meeting, in order give residents an opportunity to have both a say in these matters and allow them to hear directly from their elected officials.”
