Learn 'So You Think You Can Dance' Choreography in Northville

Northville's Performers Edge Dance Company is celebrating National Dance Day with free dance classes.

This year, National Dance Day is July 27. 

Dance instructors will teach choreography from FOX's show "So You Think You Can Dance." All dancers will dance as a group, and the dance will be recorded and submitted to the "So You Think You Can Dance" website. 

Attendees are encouraged to make signs, which will be included in the videos, to show their support for Northville's own Amy Yakima, current contestant on "So You Think You Can Dance."

Yakima won rave reviews during auditions.

“You were absolutely spectacular,” judge Mary Murphy said then. “You make it look effortless. The hair went up on my arms and it doesn’t happen very often, I’ll be honest with you.”
